Frankie Sandford of The Saturdays in rehab

The internet is awash with reports that Frankie Sandford of the band The Saturdays has checked into a rehabilitation centre.  It is being speculated that the reason for this is that she is suffering from stress after a punishing work schedule.

This comes just a week following the news that Sarah Harding of Girls Aloud is also seeking similar treatment.

Frankie has been noticeably absent from several recent engagements with The Saturdays, including a recent visit to a new Marie Curie hospice where the other girls posed as brick layers for the photographers.

Her absences have sparked rumours that she has quit the band but Frankie recently tweeted : "Sorry I haven't tweeted in a while. I've not been very well. Miss u @MollieTheSats @unahealy @vanessawhite @RochelleTheSats  I'll b back soon x (sic.)"

OK Magazine says that a spokesman for The Saturdays cited ‘unconfirmed reasons’ for her stay in rehab.  Digitalspy.co.uk states that The Saturdays spokesperson confirmed that Sandford has checked herself into a clinic, but asserted that the treatment was not to do with drink, drugs or cosmetic surgery.

I am sure that Frankie will let her fans know the reason for this stay in rehab when she is well enough to do so.

HolyMoly.com has been its usual unsympathetic self and suggests that Frankie has gone in to rehab for singing lessons.  If she is suffering from a stress related disorder then that kind of reporting is sure to do her a power of good!

Whatever the reason for Ms. Sandford’s admission to a clinic remains a mystery for now, although it is unlikely to be for no good reason and so we wish her all the best for a speedy recovery.

The Saturdays are due to release their new single ‘My Heart Takes Over’ on November 13 and the new album entitled ‘On Your Radar’ will be released on November 21st
