Dr. Marie Adams, MBACP (accredited), UKCP registered, FiP registered
Dr. Adams has been working as a counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor since 1995. Among the areas she specialises in are trauma, depression and anxiety. She is also experienced working with people struggling with eating disorders.
Dr. Adams is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP). She is also a Member of the Metanoia Insitute (MPTI) and of the Forum for Independent (psychoanalytic) Psychotherapists (FIP), adhering to all their code of ethics and is bound by their complaints procedures.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Psychotherapy
- Postgraduate course in Psychoanalytic / Psychodynamic psychotherapy.
- Masters degree in Integrative Psychotherapy (Metanoia Institute/ Middlesex University).
- Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling (Metanoia Institute).
- Diploma in Supervision.
- Dr. Adams is an experienced trainer and supervisor, most closely associated with the Metanoia Institute in West London and, more recently, The Iron Mill Institute in Exeter.
Dr. Adams offers both clinical supervision to counselling students and practitioners.
With a background in the media, Dr. Adams is an experienced broadcaster and writer with a particular interest in trauma in which she regularly gives workshops, most notably within the BBC.
