Christopher Coulson's services include counselling, psychotherapy and a unique form of depth life-coaching that is offered to individuals and couples, both in person and over the telephone.

Christopher also provides clinical supervision to other practitioners.

Christopher has been private practice for nearly 30 years, working in both the USA and the UK. Now based in Westbourne, convenient for Poole, Christchurch and the rest of Bournemouth.

Qualifications

Registered as an Independent Counsellor with the BACP-administered United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psyvhotherapists (UKRCP) and as a Psychotherapist and Group Psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council on Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Professional Member of both the International Association of Marriage and Family Counsellors and of the American Counseling Association.

Accredited in the UK through the UKAHPP and was for many years a Board Member of that organisation.

Served as Ethics Officer, UKCP Delegate and for seven years as General Secretary.

Trained at a private Psychotherapy Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Christopher says 'The training offered a unique combination of approach by embedding psycho-analytic understanding and rigour in a humanistic-existential frame. I trained as a couples counsellor, an individual and group psychotherapist and as a clinical supervisor. This training was in the classic psycho-analytic tradition and required constant and genuine experience as a client in whatever mode one wished to practice. It took 14 years to complete.'

Trained as a life coach with the Colorado-based Institute for Life Coach Training. This is an institute specialising in training therapists and counsellors to use their skills in a coaching direction.
